Another Exciting Weekend

Well, it’s unfortunate that the weekend is over because it means I’m all that much closer to having to write all these tests this week, but at the same time, it also means I’m all that much closer to being done my first year for good, which is a very exciting thought! It’s hard to imagine that in less than a week I’ll be all done and moved back home (even though it’s only for a day or two), but it’ still exciting to be so close to being done. I got the mark for the second part of the English Independent Study for this semester; it wasn’t nearly as good as I hoped or thought I did, but I still pulled off an okay mark in it overall (it’s actually depressingly low, lower than just about all of my other marks which is really sad). Another Week Down, Only One More To Go

It sure is getting down to the wire, isn’t it? I keep thinking about how close I am to being done my first year of college. And yes, I realize this may not be a huge milestone in my life, but hey, it’s pretty much the biggest thing going on in my life right now besides Jill, and I’ll still take it. With each passing day it becomes more apparent just how close I am to being completely finished. Let’s see. There’s today, which will go by fast because I’ll spend the first half of it sleeping and the last half of it with my Jilly. And then there’s this weekend (my last weekend in Residence…finally!); Saturday ought to go by fairly quickly as well since I’ll be spending all day with Jill, although she does have to leave me in the afternoon to attend something for her brother’s upcoming wedding. As much as I wish she were staying for the entire weekend, I’m perfectly content with seeing her for the time that I’ll have. Saturday night will probably be consumed by fun-filled hours of Counter-Strike, if not an adventurous excursion to see what’s happening during the last weekend at college. Speaking from experience, I won’t get up until somewhere around 4 in the afternoon on Sunday, and I’ll probably spend the rest of the day and into the wee hours of the morning either playing CS or watching the Discovery Channel (call me lame, but the Discovery Channel is totally badass). Fuck You, Crispy Crunch Commercial

fuck-you-crispy-crunch-commercial

As promised, my next entry is entirely dedicated to the bullshit on TV. Now, this post essentially vents all my anger and hatred towards the new Crispy Crunch commercial, which I’m sure you’ve all seen (I don’t understand how one could possibly avoid witnessing this gigantic steaming bowl of elephant piss, but just in case you’re one of those lucky few individuals, you can find the commercial here so that you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about).

Now, first of all, you should understand that almost as soon as I see this commercial appear on my TV screen, I instantly have a craving to punch a nearby baby, preferably one that’s already crying and/or shitting itself (why would I want to punch a happy baby?). And no, I’m not a baby-racist, I’m not a baby-hater. But guess what? That’s just how much I hate this commercial. Basically, it’s some old geezer trying to hypnotize me into remembering Crispy Crunch. Well I have news for you, creepy old man…hypnotize this (*waves two middle fingers in the air*)! (more…)

Weekend Update and a Surprise Visitor!

Hey y’all, it feels like it’s been awhile since my last entry…and now that I think about it, it has! So here’s my latest information for all you faithful readers!

Basically, I really don’t want to go into my weekend too too much, because it was probably one of the most uneventful and depressing weekends of my life so far. Basically, this morning was not only the first time I’d left my room since Thursday afternoon, but it was also the first time I’d consumed any sort of food since then as well. As you might have guessed, definitely not the greatest weekend. Far from it, in fact. On top of that, I think I logged something like 50 - 60 hours of Counter-Strike playing time, which is absolutely horrid. But hey, things weren’t going good, I wasn’t in a good mood, and to be honest, CS was the only thing keeping me sane the entire weekend. Anyways, it’s over now and I’m feeling much better, so I won’t bother talking about it anymore! (more…)

Another Week Down, Two To Go

Well, I’ve survived yet another week in the shithole (also referred to as Sudbury). It’s becoming more and more apparent to me how close I really am to being done by first year of college (even though a couple of weeks ago I thought this was my last week…oh well). I mean, I have this weekend (3 days of playing Counter-Strike in nothing but my boxers, eating junk food, and accomplishing nothing…unless of course I get a surprise visit from a special someone), and then next week, and then next weekend (which I’ll be going to Guelph for with a couple guys to “celebrate” the magic that is 4:20 (thank you Bob Marley!)), and the week following that is my final testing week. After that, it’s time to move out of this crapbag and go home. Unfortunately, I found out today that my last test is on Friday, April 25th, so I would be moving back until either later that night or that weekend. (more…)

Happy Birthday To Me!

Well, it’s official, Paul Ritter is now 19! It’s exciting, I know. So, how was my weekend? Well, let me tell the tale.

First, let’s start with Friday night, shall we? I expected to have a pretty relaxing evening, talking to Jill, watching some TV and/or movies, maybe playing some Counter-Strike. However, that assumption was quickly brought to an end when my buddy called me up after he got off work to say he was on his way to pick me up to celebrate my last chance at illegal underage drinking. We made a quick pitstop at the mall to pickup some snacks (to solve our inevitable munchies, of course) and then headed over to setup some Rock Band and other shit. As a “right of passage,” I was immediately told to do a shot of Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (which, from my Alberta Premium experience, was a lot harder than you (or they) might have thought). Anyways, I downed the shot and washed it down with some foam from the Heineken mini-keg. After a few drinks we polished off a few songs on Rock Band and were ready to hit the bong. We punched a few pretty big cones continued our rock-fest. After awhile (and in the wee hours of the morning) we eventually started coming down from the alcohol/shake buzz, but the night was far from over; Dan rolled one of the most impressive joints I’ve ever seen, and between the three of us we finished it off in a few pulls during a quick walk around the block. We came back, and sitting down, realized just how high we really were. We played a few more jams and I headed back to my room sometime around four in the morning (I knew I still had some cleaning to do and squeeze in a bit of shut-eye prior to my baby’s arrival a few short hours later). I gave the room a quick cleanup (although I don’t really remember doing it since I was so baked, but when I finally got up the following morning it appeared as if I did a pretty decent job ;)). So, let’s move onto Saturday… (more…)

And the Days of 18 Wind Down…

and-the-days-of-18-wind-down

Well, here it is. This will most likely be my last entry as 18! Yes, for those of you who don’t stalk me, it will be my 19th birthday on Sunday! Am I excited to be 19? Not really. It might sound odd, since most people can’t wait to turn 19 so they can buy their own booze, and hit the bars and strip clubs. I suppose it will be interesting when I’m 19 to be able to legally do all that stuff and not have to try and sneak around about it, but to be totally honest, let me put it this way: first of all, I’m not really all that into drinking anymore after the fateful Alberta Premium night. Yes, I may have a brewski every once in awhile, but I just don’t find alcohol in general very appealing anymore. Second, people only go to bars to pickup. Fortunately I don’t need to worry about that because I’ve already got the best girlfriend a boy could have. If people wanted to go somewhere to drink, they’d just get their own booze and hit a party; it’s significantly cheaper than spending money at a bar. Third, the only people who go to strip clubs are desperate and/or lonely, or aren’t satisfied, or all of the above. Yes, I suppose I might venture to the strip club at some point just to have the experience and be able to say that I’ve at least been, but it’s not for the reason that most people go. But let me just say this: I’m not desperate, I’m not lonely, and I am certainly more than satisfied with my Jilly. Anyways, let’s get back to my story. (more…)

Welcome to my Life…Version 2.5

welcome-to-my-lifeversion-25

From your end you probably won’t notice a difference, but from over here the grass is much greener (or should I say, the PHP is cleaner and the AJAX is nicer). Since now I’ve probably got you all confused (unless of course you’re a geeky as I am, or *gasp* geekier), I guess I’ll explain. Basically I updated both the front and backend of my site. While the frontend-blog interface looks pretty much the same, the frontend-management is significantly better. Of course, you wouldn’t notice that, but hey, this isn’t your blog, is it? Biatch. Anyways I just figured I’d swing by and share my ultra-exciting news (I already shared it, so don’t expect anything more amazing than what you just read). I’ll be posting more as the week draws nearer to an end (along with my age of 18). More to come soon! Stay tuned, fools!
